Ursula Wermund is Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Agricultural Sciences (University of Essex, Chelmsford, UK). After finishing her degree, she went to Imperial College at Wye, UK, for her postdoctoral studies and as Head of the Postharvest Group. Part of her work was the coordination of international industrial projects for Sainsburys’ suppliers. After a further three years of working experience as Head of Quality Management for the Peter Vetter Group, she started to work for the UNIVEG Group in 2007 until present. Her responsibility is Quality and Project Management within the quality team. During the last years, Dr. Wermund published several papers and presentations for customers, suppliers and the UNIVEG Group, such as: The Effect of Different Fumigation Protocols and Packaging Material on Litchi Fruit from Madagascar with Regard to Quality and Shelf Life. In 2013 she successfully implemented GRASP for Madagascar.
