Dr. Leon Mol was educated as an agronomist at Wageningen University. After having worked in an international technical and commercial job in the potato sector for 13 years, he was involved in the establishment of Breeders trust, a company that looks after enforcement of Plant Breeders' Right Protection in potato. Since 4 years Leon was employed as Agronomist at Ahold European Sourcing (The Netherlands), which changed into working for the Ahold subsidiary Albert Heijn recently. The scope of the activities include the year-round availability and sustainability of fresh fruit & vegetables and flowers & plants. His inputs contribute to a supply base with a combination of quality, long term availability, food safety, sustainability, and associated risks. In addition, he represents Ahold and Albert Heijn in several international sustainability initiatives and stakeholder groups.
