Dr. Roland Aumüller
Dr. Roland Aumüller has more than 30 years of experience as a specialist veterinary surgeon in the field of livestock production. He is an independent senior veterinary consultant.
Consulting GLOBALG.A.P. as an expert for livestock and compound feed manufacturing, his activities focus on food and feed safety, animal health, animal welfare, sustainability and traceability of livestock products. He also moderates the GLOBALG.A.P. Technical Committee Livestock and the Stakeholder Committee Animal Welfare.
As a GLOBALG.A.P. trainer, he instructs worldwide auditors, inspectors and farm assurers on livestock production, livestock transport, and compound feed manufacturing standards.
Graduated in 1980 at the LMU University of Munich, Germany, his PhD research assignment was at Veterinary School of Hannover, Germany, from which he received in 1982 the academic degree Dr. med. vet.
By acquiring the requested professional experiences and by passing the relevant exams, he was given two appointments as a specialist veterinary surgeon: in 1987 for Animal Reproduction and in 1999 for Animal Breeding and Biotechnology.
At European level, Dr. Aumüller is member of the steering committee of the European Forum of Farm Animal Breeders, EFFAB. There his latest project in 2013 and 2014 was the review and update of the “Code EFABAR – the commitment to responsible animal breeding”.
